Apuesto x Codigo Rosa Reposado available now for local pick-up at The Monarch Bar!
Apuesto has always been a dream for me. Six years ago, when I first became a business owner (1 Dapper Latino, LLC), I crafted a five year plan to start a Tequila brand. Well, I’m a year late on that five year plan but through education and determination I’ve finally made my dream into a reality!
Apuesto, which translates to ‘dapper’ in Spanish (nowadays it is all about staying on brand, am I right?), sets out as a premier boutique Tequila brand with the goal of sourcing and distilling exceptional organic and ethically sourced Tequilas all while uplifting and enriching the Latino and Gay communities which Apuesto is a part of. It is with great privilege and excitement that now, six years down the line, my Apuesto journey finally begins with a Private Barrel select partnership with Codigo 1530, one of Mexico’s topTequila distilleries. Tapping into the incredible legacy that Codigo has built for itself, Apuesto aspires to one day support its own legacy as an inspiration to the Latino and Gay communities it takes pride in.

This inaugural release from Apuesto was produced by Código and aged in used Napa Valley Cabernet French Oak Barrels. This is a historic style of aging that the Ocampo family used when making tequila rather than the more common use of whiskey barrels to age tequila. This tequila is classified as a lowland tequila which often have the flavor profile of green, vegetal taste that can range from herbal and peppery to floral and citrusy.
